This time we learn more about Tari Fae Art & Design, the creative work of Kate, a micro business owner with a passion for photography and textiles and producing artwork for her fine arts brand as well as freelance design and marketing work (And working behind the scenes of Fleurieu Handmade).
Raised on the Fleurieu and spending some time in Adelaide during her late teens and twenties where she studied textiles and visual art through Suzanne Gummow. She returned to the Fleurieu to open her own business and continued to study design, photography and digital marketing. Kate works in textiles, photography and mixed media, as well as graphic design.
She is inspired by texture, colour and enjoys creating pieces that showcase nature, and rustic rural features.
Over the years Kate has completed studies in:
· Visual Arts and Textiles
· Graphic Design
· Marketing and Communications & Small Business Management
· Photography
· And Most recently work on Digital Media
In the last 6 years Kate has been involved in the festival and events management for the local and surrounding area through her role both as business owner and on the Inman Valley Community Committee. She has regularly showed as part of local shows and festivals including Festival Fleurieu and SALA.
Kate has been involved with organising community markets for several years and as a result has been able to see all the amazing and creative products made by people from all over the Fleurieu Peninsula. Her passion for digital marketing and want to promote her local area inspired her to create Fleurieu Handmade. A place where small creators can sell and market online, without the need to understand the social media landscape. Aiming at building a community and online space around art and creative people from the Fleurieu region.
